This is the pool I built next to the hotel. It does not go to height limit, but pretty close. It is surrounded by lava and (until the new mob is released) completely safe from mobs.

Endermen can't beat lava! Can they? I thought they could only pick up blocks (I really hope they can only pick up Vanilla blocks, because otherwise I am going to be QUITE angry). Nice job on the pool. Now you need to go make a rapture city B) .
