Platformer Racing Multiplayer? Hot

Platformer Racing Multiplayer?

So how exactly would they make a platformer online multiplayer? Well Rare gave some folks a hands on this week. They have come up with some interesting ways to combine Banjo silliness with racing and old school platforming.

It all starts in a game lobby, what a shock I know, but one unlike what we have become accustom.  While the host decides what to play you could go mess around on a practice track, or tweak your vehicles or just screw around. The test track isn’t really just a track it’s more of a large arena filled with tracks, jumps, lakes, and various other obstacles to put your creation to the test before the host’s game even begins.

Ala Halo 3 you can take in game pictures and share them with your friends or online. But you’re in game shots aren’t just to show off your sweet ride it also gives a blueprint of your vehicle so your friends, or random people who happen to see it on line, can make their very own.

You can go back and grab stuff from your garage or switch vehicles all together in game simply by pressing the Y button. So if your monster truck isn’t doing the trick for the challenge presented you can tweak it or change to something better suited. Nuts and Bolts will offer up 14 race types and 13 sports type modes each with tons variations. Rare hasn’t given up all of the game modes yet but there was talk of Queen of the Knoll, a take on King of the Hill, and Sumo, I’m not sure how that would work in vehicles but I’m really excited to find out!
