Some might assume from our lack of coverage that there is not much room for creativity in sports games. The fact of the matter is we have a very limited staff at the moment and it’s difficult for us to cover everything, especially things like sports games that we don’t necessarily have as much interest in. Sports titles have recently begun getting more and more into the world of creative gaming, and despite my general lack of knowledge on the subject I’ll fulfill my obligation to report on all creative outlets in gaming to the best of my ability."/>

MLB: 10 Takes a Swing at Creative Gaming
Some might assume from our lack of coverage that there is not much room for creativity in sports games. The fact of the matter is we have a very limited staff at the moment and it’s difficult for us to cover everything, especially things like sports games that we don’t necessarily have as much interest in. Sports titles have recently begun getting more and more into the world of creative gaming, and despite my general lack of knowledge on the subject I’ll fulfill my obligation to report on all creative outlets in gaming to the best of my ability.
With that said, I’ll return to the topic at hand. There are a lot of sports games that show a highlight reel after the game, but “MLB: 10 The Show” has taken the next step by allowing players to create, edit, and share their own clips. This feature lets you use MLB’s extensive replay feature to choose plays, camera angles, and edit points to create the ultimate personal highlight reel. Once finished you can save the file to your hard drive and share it as you see fit.
This may not be the most amazing feature ever, but it’s a big step for sports titles and something that is sure to add longevity to the lifespan of the community and pave the way for more freedom in creativity for future sports games.
